Kam in the sand

Kam and froggy
Today sure has been eventful! Classes started at 9 am for me this morning, starting fresh with a quiz over the first chapter. Oops! Then I skipped my next class and went shopping with my mother. (Sssshhh don't tell.) I got back just in time to make it to my Film class, where we finished watching Meet Joe Black. That movie was amazing, sometimes alittle corny but overall it had me laughing and even tearing up. Great acting done by Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt I might add. You may have noticed the cutie in the pictures? That is my cousin Kamryn. He brightens my day with his smiles.  Now if only he would come to Illinois. Ha-ha. Weather Warning: It was pouring down rain after school, and I almost got into a wreck coming home. I couldn't see the lanes, and it is rather gloomy outside, so it was dark, rainy, and there were lights everywhere. The lights are the worst thing about it, they were blinding me. But as you can see I traveled through it and got home just in time. Lucas met me at the door and helped me bring my backpacks inside. <3 #ThatsLove We only were drenched when we returned inside, but that just called for fresh clothes which made us both feel better. Well, there is much homework to be done, so I won't bore you any longer. Thanks for reading! : )

Sorry!

Things have been super busy for us lately. We started back at school, and that seems to be keeping us on our feet. Lucas' hours picked up at work, and so have mine, so we have little time to post to our blog. : ( #SadDay Quick Update: We have recently started buying books as we are trying to stay educated while not in school. Lucas and i's anniversary was on the 23rd, so I bought him the book If I can't have you by Mary B Morrison.. We also bought a book on the Agenda 21. Basically, that is the main book right now. He is currently on chapter 40 out of 49. #SpeedReader Lastly, we bought 11/22/63 A Novel by Stephen King. (Sorry if I spell the names wrong I am going off memory). It is about the JFK assassination. By far the thickest of the books, but also by far the most interesting in my opinion. My brother recently "Bought" me a romance mystery novel, which I just figured out was actually free so it doesn't seem as special. Nice try though bro. Ha-ha. Yesterday was my grandmothers 91st birthday, so we celebrated by going to Long Horn steakhouse as a family. Her actual birthday is today, but we celebrated last night. Fun was had by all, but us "kids" were thrown at the end booth. Being only 4 of us all late teens to early twenties there was plenty to speak about. Lately, Lucas and I both have been battling illnesses. I have been diagnosed with Severe Optical Migraines. Ugh : ( Lucas goes to the dermatologist to get his lump looked at on the 22nd of February. Hope he gets better. I hate seeing him in pain. <3 Well, that's all folks! Keep checking back for more updates, pictures will follow shortly. Thanks!! : D

Updates

First things first, I wanted to make a shout-out to www.omgtheresthree.com! I don't know how she manages three little children so well. I wish I had the patience that she does. Head over to her blog to read more! Back to our family: Lucas and I have decided that we would like to try to expand our family once more, not just by one though. We want twins or triplets. As stupid as this may come off to some people, we believe that it would be an accomplishment for us as a couple. Besides, if we have twins that's one for each of us to hold during feeding time. Ha-ha. In other news, classes officially start up tomorrow for me, with Lucas' classes having started last week. The class I am actually excited for is Fundamentals of Investigation. I have already studied the book and I am clearly in over my head on some of the aspects, but I have faith that I will ace the class. :) #HighSpirits. I also am taking a Film class, which has me excited as well. I looked through the book and found many unique viewpoints on films of today. My favorite was the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Review. I failed to piece together that the movie was loosely portraying my all time favorite serial killer. (Yes I know how bad that sounds, I'm not crazy and DO NOT agree with his actions.) After reading the review I ran to the bookcase and picked up my old book on the killer. I found many similarities, but also differences that put the movie in a bad spot with me. I can not wait to spark up a conversation about this with the professor, granted they are as passionate about it as I. Besides the boring things, we have also been piecing my family tree together today. I found out that I am a great aunt x2. It feels strange considering I am only 18 years old, but it's family and that's what matters. I also discovered that my nephew is older than myself. Imagine going to a family reunion and hugging your nephew whose older than you. Strange. I have been slowly looking into my heredity but everything that I found out today would have taken me years on my own. Well, that's an update. Check back tomorrow for pictures of the sippy-cup and some other surprises. Thanks for reading!

Finances

The past week has brought us some disappointments, many having to do with finances. It's official, I am broke. I went to the bank to get my check cashed and they told me they could not do it because I didn't have the funds in my account to cover it in case the check bounced. Good thing my parents are being generous, and cashing it for me later. Lucas and I have been looking into other means of collecting money lately, as our previous posts state. We are currently trying to sell speakers and a limited edition wii. There have been a few people interested but somehow the price always seems better somewhere else. We did purchase some newborn to three month clothing in the past week from an old friend of mine, which has us really excited. The downfall? I saw the other ones on her FaceBook page that she is still selling and I swear I bought one of the pairs of pants she has up for sale still. I can only hope that she sent ours, as we both loved them soooo much! My work has cut down hours once more, and now a few of my younger co-workers and I are receiving 0 hours on this paycheck coming up on Saturday. I have resorted to looking for another job, wish me luck! Lucas' employer is hopefully getting a new manager soon, so we are hoping that his hours will pick up due to our financial crisis. Hope that everyone had an enjoyable New Years! I know that Lucas and I sure did. Our friends family stopped by and we got to meet and play with his two young boys ages 2 and 1. Franklin has continued to be a fantastic addition to our family, and we couldn't be happier with him. We have one older doll named Rudy, that everyone has nicknamed Chucky. He has red hair, and is model number 0666/5000 so it does kind of make for an eery time. He is 22 inches but is not the same type as Franklin. Chuck is a Duck House doll, and is porcelain. He is much bigger than Franklin, so any hope of the clothes ever fitting Franklin is lost. We did return the monster shirt to Target we had put up for Brixen and exchanged it for another shirt that we like much more. We even found a matching sippy-cup.
The shirt we exchanged it for. : )
The sippy-cup picture will be added later once we take a nicer picture of it. The shirt was on sale for $6 and the sippy-cup was only $2.99. We thought that was a great deal.  Well, I won't bore you any longer than I already have. Have a nice day and keep checking back to see more updates. : ) Thanks!!
